The 21st Norma Darlington Founders’ Day Lecture this year will be presented by former Prime Minister, the Most Honourable P.J. Patterson. He will speak to us on: Migration and Development: ‘Managing the Flow of Human Capital’. Students are asked to consider among other issues, the implications for educational development in Jamaica. How far for example has education in Jamaica benefited from the flows of financial, technological, social and human capital from Jamaicans in the diaspora? Students are asked to review this question and come to Principal Option with some ideas for discussion.

You might wish to look at the annual reports from the Planning Institute of Jamaica in helping to frame your responses.

There will be other questions and issues; watch this space.
